  • Rm 214: Ceiling above the bathtub is stained brown spots and speckles, possibly a mold-like substance; minor damage to grab bar in bathtub and light rusting

Walls, floors, and ceilings shall be constructed of easily cleanable nonabsorbent materials and shall be kept clean and in good repair. While being used by tourists, every surface of a bathtub, shower, shower enclosure, toilet and lavatory, which may come in contact with a person’s body, must be sanitized each day, unless the guest has declined regular tourist room services. If a tourist declines regular tourist room services, the tourist accommodation facility must ensure that these surfaces are cleaned and sanitized at least once per week and between tourists.

CA: EHS advised the PIC that the observed surfaces must be smooth and brought back into good repair. The cause of the observed brown staining on ceiling should be investigated and brought back into good repair

The PIC indicated that he was aware of the peeling finish. The PIC explained that the peeling is likely due to inadequate repair work recently performed by a licensed contractor.

EHS observed the dumpster gate being open. On top of the dumpster the lid on the left is missing. both of the dumpster side doors were open. Also, there was trash on the outside of the dumpster on the ground.

Corrective action- PIC needs make sure the dumpster gate and lids are closed. Also make sure there are no trash surrounding the dumpster on the outside.
