Observed flow meter not operating. (b) A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed the property manager of the need service the flow meter or purchase a new one.

Observed the no diving symbol and the words NO DIVING (4 inch lettering) missing at each depth marker on the pool deck/coping. (a) The words "No Diving" and the universal international symbol for “NO DIVING” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers, and shall conform to that outlined for depth markers in subsections (3)(a) thru (h) above. EHS informed the property manager who stated that when the deck was re-painted, she was unsure of where the placement should be; she will correct the issue.

Observed gate that did not self-latch. Per CPO, the kids jumped the fenced and broke it this weekend. h) Access gates shall also comply with the requirements of this Rule and shall be equipped to accommodate a locking device. Barrier gates shall open away from the pool in facilities constructed after adoption of this chapter. Pedestrian access gates shall be self-closing and have a self-latching device. Gates other than pedestrian access gates shall have a self-latching device. Where the release mechanism of the self latching device is located less than fifty-four inches from the bottom of the gate, 1. The release mechanism shall be located on the pool side of the gate at least three inches below the top of the gate and 2. Any openings in the gate or barrier located within eighteen inches of the release mechanism shall be less than one-half inch. 3. Mechanisms controlled by an access card reader, key entry device or keypad shall be located on the outside of the access gate. EHS informed PIC that the gate should be fixed immediately to prevent easy entry.

Observed chlorine level in pool at .22. (c) Free Chlorine level in pools using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine product; Minimum 2.0 Ideal 2.0-5.0 Maximum 10.0 EHS informed PIC of the need to balance the water chemistry. CPO stated that he hand dispensed the liquid chlorine into the pool. EHS informed him that it was not allowed as all chlorine has to be dispensed through the chemical feeder.

(2) Chemical Values: pH 7.2 7.4-7.6 7.8 Alkalinity (buffering), 60 ppm 80-100 halogens compounds with high pH 180 ppm as CaC03 100-120 halogen compounds with low pH Calcium hardness, ppm, CaCo3 150 200-400 to balance water 1000. EHS informed PIC of the need to balance the water chemistry.

Observed no rope present on the buoy ring. (b) A minimum one-fourth inch diameter throwing rope one and one-half times the maximum width of the pool or fifty feet in length, whichever is less, to which has been firmly attached a ring buoy with an outside diameter of approximately fifteen inches or a similar flotation device which is U.S. Coast Guard approved. CPO stated that the rope had been ordered and should be in tomorrow.

EHS informed PIC of the need to purchase 50FT of marine rope for the ring.

Observed the water chemistry was unbalanced: Alkalinity @ 58; Calcium Hardness @ 127. EHS informed PIC of the need to balance the water chemistry; CPO was aware of the issue.
