3 - hot/cold running water under pressure in all required locations of tourist accommodation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.07(2) - hot water supply
EHS Observed: Hot water temperature exceeded 120F in all rooms - temps ranged from 125-130F.
511-6-2-.07(2) - Hot Water Supply Cold running water under pressure shall be provided to all equipment that uses water. Hot and cold running water under pressure shall be provided to all lavatories, bathing facilities, laundry facilities, and water-using equipment where eating and drinking utensils are washed. In all new tourist accommodations, and where possible in existing tourist accommodations, hot water in all guest rooms shall not exceed 120F.
CA: Informed PIC that observed water temps were too high and should range between 100F and 120F
8 - annual gas fired equipment inspection on file; gas units equipped with automatic safety and/or 100% cut-off pilot
Regulation: 511-6-2-.15(5) - heating and fire safety-inspection
EHS Observed: PIC unable to provide gas-fired equipment inspection report for view at time of inspection. PIC indicated that the last inspection was performed in November of 2024 but he is unsure where the report was stored.
511-6-2-.15(5) - Heating and Fire Safety-Inspection All gas-fired equipment shall be inspected at least annually by a qualified licensed contractor or local fire authority, if available. Points to be inspected are proper construction and installation, malfunctions and adjustments of controls and burners, faulty heat exchangers and vent obstructions. Any defects found on inspection must be corrected by a qualified heating contractor prior to use of the equipment. Upon request, the operator shall provide evidence of inspection and/or correction of any deficiency
CA: Informed PIC that the gas-fired equipment inspection is to be performed annually. Advised PIC that the inspection report should be stored locally for view at time of inspection
27 - all furniture, waste receptacles, draperies, carpets; clean, and in good repair, considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(5) - condition of furnishings
EHS Observed:
- Dirty A/C unit air filter in all rooms
- Room 150: Stained and damaged sofa; interior of microwave rusting
- Room 148: Damaged furniture upholstery
511-6-2-.14(5) - Condition of Furnishings All furniture, draperies, appliances, carpets, and other accessories, in the tourist accommodation, whether the property of the tourist accommodation owner or not, shall be considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation for purposes of enforcement of this Chapter, and must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin.
CA: Advised PIC to increase cleaning frequency of A/C air filters. Advised that stained and damaged furniture should either be repaired of replaced. Advised that damaged appliances should be repaired or replaced
28 - beds, mattresses, mattress pads, springs, frames, pillows, and bed coverings clean; vermin free and in good condition; bed linen properly supplied, changed and laundered
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(6) - bed, bedding, and linens
EHS Observed: Stains, hairs, and/or debris on the linen of all rooms.
511-6-2-.14(6) - Bed, Bedding, and Linens Washable mattress pads or covers shall be used on all mattresses. Beds, mattresses, springs, slats, mattress pads, mattress and bed coverings, pillow and pillow covers shall be clean and free from vermin. Each bed shall be provided, as a minimum, with two sheets and one pillow and pillowcase. After each occupancy and upon the request of the occupant, sheets and pillowcases shall be changed with fresh laundered linens. During occupancy, linens shall be changed at a minimum frequency of not less than weekly.
CA: Advised PIC that linen should be cleaned and replaced, and that items from which stains can't be removed should be discarded and replaced
