Observed no diving symbols and the words no diving in 4 inch lettering missing from each depth marker. a) The words "No Diving" and the universal international symbol for “NO DIVING” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers, and shall conform to that outlined for depth markers in subsections (3)(a) thru (h) above. EHS informed the PIC of the need to install the symbols and wording.

EHS informed the PIC of the need to increase the bather load numbering to at least 4 inches in height.
Observed low alkalinity levels. EHS informed the PIC of the need to balance the water chemistry.

Chapter 511-3-5.17(2) Chemical Values. EHS observed Alkalinity at 41 ppm. Violation: Alkalinity shall be 60 to 180 ppm. CA: Increase alkalinity to a minimum of 60 ppm. Ideal 80-100 ppm.

EHS informed the PIC of the need for the pool servicing company to balance the water chemistry.

Observed the pools PH at 8.2(tested 2x: 4FT and 6FT). (2) Chemical Values: pH 7.2 7.4-7.6 7.8 Alkalinity (buffering), 60 ppm 80-100 halogens compounds with high pH 180 ppm as CaC03 100-120 halogen compounds with low pH Calcium hardness, ppm, CaCo3 150 200-400 to balance water 1000. EHS informed the PIC of the need for the pools servicing company to come balance the water chemistry.

Regulation: 511-3-5-.23(5)(h) - (h) absence of required lifesaving equipment on the deck or an emergency phone;
Observed no life buoy ring or rope present on the pool deck. All public swimming pools shall have lifesaving equipment conspicuously and conveniently on hand at all times. PIC provided receipt of purchase.
Observed the non-slip tread missing on the top step of the pool ladder at the 5Ft marker closest to the clubhouse. All pools, except spas, shall have at least two means of entry/exit located so as to serve both ends of the pool and the deepest portion. These shall Swimming Pools, Spas and Recreational Water Parks Chapter 511-3-5 39 Rule .06(2) consist of ladders, stairs or recessed treads, or a walking entry, and may be used in combination. All treads shall have slip-resistant surfaces. PIC informed EHS that they may have to purchase a new ladder as they were unable to find the stair tread.

Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(10)(c ) - (c) an operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all tim
EHS observed emergency phone not working. EHS pressed the button and did not hear a dial tone, yet the Kings phone box had a red blinking light. (c) An operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all times. The emergency phone shall be capable of connecting to 911 and electronically transferring an automatic number identification and automatic locator identification of the pool emergency phone to the public safety answering point, if available. A 911 sign or the names and phone numbers of the nearest available police, fire, ambulance service or rescue unit shall be posted nearby. This must be corrected prior to conducting an opening inspection.

EHS informed PIC of the need to assure that the rope for the ring is 50ft or 1.5 times the width of the pool(whichever is greater).

Observed planks of the pool tanning deck not mounted. Maintenance was able to tack down some boards. (a) Decks shall be designed and installed in accordance with the engineering practices required in the area of installation. Decks shall be constructed with a uniform and easily cleaned surface such as concrete, tile, manufactured or acrylic surfaces. This includes the design of sub base when required, concrete mix design, reinforcing, and joints, if a concrete deck is selected. In the absence of specific local engineering practices, the work shall be performed in accordance with the recommended practices of the latest edition of American Concrete Institute (ACI) Standard 302.1R-80, "Guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction or successor standard." (b)Facility is to assure that all boards of the tanning deck are secure.

EHS informed maintenance of the need to place the non-slip international symbol for no-diving of the pool deck and wall.

Observed pool bathing load in 1 inch lettering. (15) The theoretical peak occupancy limit shall be observed by the management. A sign stating the occupancy shall be posted in a visible location near the entrance in four inch letters and numbers. EHS informed maintenance of the need to post the bather load in 4 inch letters.

EHS observed emergency phone not working. EHS pressed the button and did not hear a dial tone. However there was a red light blinking. PIC informed EHS that the police did arrive at the facility shortly after and the operators for the emergency phone contacted facility

A 911 sign or the names and phone numbers of the nearest available police, fire, ambulance service or rescue unit shall be posted nearby.
Informed PIC to either have phone replaced or repaired. This must be corrected by next pool season
