CA: All furniture, draperies, appliances, carpets, and other accessories, in the tourist accommodation, whether the property of the tourist accommodation owner or not, shall be considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation for purposes of enforcement of this Chapter, and must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin.

OBSERVATION: drawer in room 201 with ashes, phone in room 221 with stains, lamp shades with stains in rooms 221, 223. Microwave in room 223 rusting on the bottom. Refrigerators unclean with food particles, splatter in rooms: 201, 203, 221, 223, 213

CA: Housekeeper carts shall be so arranged that clean replacement supplies, clean linens, and cleaned and sanitized multi-use equipment and utensils shall be protected from soiled items being removed from each room. Soiled linens and refuse shall be placed in appropriate containers on housekeepers’ carts. Any spray bottle used in cleaning a tourist room or stored on the housekeeping cart shall be labeled with its contents. Cleaners and sanitizer shall be used according to the manufacturer’s use direction and label.

OBSERVATION: Chemicals in 3 spray bottles in a room that was being serviced by housekeeping without labels. Chemical in the slobby restroom without a label. Discussed with PIC to ensure that all chemicals removed from original container are labeled properly and to complete before the housekeeper finishes for the day

Food offered in lobby area of hotel not in compliance. A tourist accommodation without a food service permit may serve a continental breakfast as defined in DPH Rule 511-6-2-.03(d); foods not requiring preparation and cooking; potentially hazardous foods commercially prepared and packaged in single-servings; non-potentially hazardous foods commercially prepared and packaged and served from the original container or an approved dispenser such as bagels or bread that may require only reheating or toasting by tourists

Observed ac vents in disrepair and holes, stains, and worn furniture in rooms 120, 114, `116, 202, 203, 111, 119. Observed unclean pillowcases/pillows/mattresses/mattress covers/ in rooms 116, 114. 203, and 119. Beds, mattresses, springs, slats, mattress pads, mattress and bed coverings, pillow and pillow covers shall be clean and free from vermin

Observed most current inspection report not posted. The most recent tourist accommodation inspection report form shall be prominently displayed in public view at all times, between five feet and seven feet from the floor and in a public area such as the registration desk, where it can be read at a distance of one foot away

Observed vents with an accumulation of dust and not functioning properly in rooms 120, 114, 116, 202 and 215. In existing tourist accommodations permitted prior to the adoption of this rule, the current ventilation must prevent odor, mold, mildew, and moisture

Observed weather strip worn allowing outside light to enter rooms in rooms 114, 120, 116, 202, 119, 111, and 203. Openings to the outside shall be effectively protected against the entrance of rodents and insects by tight-fitting doors, closed windows, screening, controlled air currents or other means

Observed self-service ice unclean with an accumulation of black residue. In existing tourist accommodations permitted prior to the adoption of this rule, the use of existing self-service ice-storage bins may be continued, provided that the machines are maintained in good repair and capable of being properly cleaned and sanitized according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Further, a copy of the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions shall be maintained onsite for review at the request of the Health Authority

Observed stains, cigarette holes, and/or debris on mattresses, linens and bedding in all rooms inspected. Observed a large stain on the sofa mattress and stains on the sofa cushions in room 203

Observed gaps on side and/or under rooms doors in rooms 123, 112, 206 and 203

Observed ice machine dispenser unclean to sight and touch with a heavy accumulation of organic growth. Advised person in charge to stop using ice machine until it has been properly cleaned

Observed personal items directly touching clean linen on housekeeping cart
