27 - all furniture, waste receptacles, draperies, carpets; clean, and in good repair, considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(5) - condition of furnishings
CA: All furniture, draperies, appliances, carpets, and other accessories, in the tourist accommodation, whether the property of the tourist accommodation owner or not, shall be considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation for purposes of enforcement of this Chapter, and must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin.
OBSERVATION: drawer in room 201 with ashes, phone in room 221 with stains, lamp shades with stains in rooms 221, 223. Microwave in room 223 rusting on the bottom. Refrigerators unclean with food particles, splatter in rooms: 201, 203, 221, 223, 213
33 - housekeeping carts and storage areas maintained; clean/sanitized items protected from contamination
Regulation: 511-6-2-.17(2) - housekeeping carts
CA: Housekeeper carts shall be so arranged that clean replacement supplies, clean linens, and cleaned and sanitized multi-use equipment and utensils shall be protected from soiled items being removed from each room. Soiled linens and refuse shall be placed in appropriate containers on housekeepers’ carts. Any spray bottle used in cleaning a tourist room or stored on the housekeeping cart shall be labeled with its contents. Cleaners and sanitizer shall be used according to the manufacturer’s use direction and label.
OBSERVATION: Chemicals in 3 spray bottles in a room that was being serviced by housekeeping without labels. Chemical in the slobby restroom without a label. Discussed with PIC to ensure that all chemicals removed from original container are labeled properly and to complete before the housekeeper finishes for the day
