13-198: the equipment room shall be kept clean and safe

Observed at time of inspection significant water puddles in one corner of the equipment room; this area should be dried and the equipment room itself could be slightly better organized.

13-202(a)(2) Entry into the pool area shall be at the shallow end of the pool through a self-closing, self-latching gate or door. The fence, between bar and spa area, does not self close or self latch.

13-189(c)(6) At all times when a pool is in use, the water shall be of such clarity that the main drains on the bottom of the pool at the deepest point are clearly visible from the deck. Observed the spas green with algae.

13-197(a)The water in each pool shall be continuously chemically treated with an approved disinfecting agent, with associated, approved equipment, whereby the residual can be easily measured by simple and accurate field tests. Chemical feeders observed not working properly. The chlorine tabs did not appear wet.

13-205(d)(1) A clock, with a minimum 12-inch face shall be provided & mounted vertically so as to be clearly seen by all bathers in the whirlpool and whirlpool area. Need clock for each spa.

13-190(a)(7) An adequately sized flow meter shall be installed on the return line to accurately indicate the circulation rate in gallons per minute (GPM); shall be conspicuously located. Spa flow meter observed not working. Flow meter needs repair.

13-188(d)(1)Steps shall be clearly and permanently marked on the horizontal surface, within two inches (2”) of the step edge, by a minimum 2” dark, continuous line of slip resisting tile. Dark Step marking observed not provided on first 2 steps. Markers need to be applied here, too.

13-202(f) Where no *[qualified] lifeguard is on duty, signs shall be posted in a conspicuous location at or near the entrance to the pool area and within the pool area stating, in clear legible letters at least 4” high, “WARNING – NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY.” No lifeguard signs not present. Pool rule signage needs to be filled in. Miss bather load numbers for each spa. Need additional set of spa rules for spa #2

13-202(i)Each pool facility shall have in place a departmentally approved EAP. EAP not provided at the time of inspection. Provided EAP template to Clint.

13-202(k)Each pool shall be supplied with a readily available first aid kit equipped to treat at least 15 people and that meets OSHA requirements for that size kit. Container shall be durable and weather-resistant and kept supplied and ready for use. First aid kit not provided during inspection.

13-201(k) At all times, an adequate supply of liquid soap, toilet paper and paper towels shall be provided and stored in appropriate dispensers conveniently accessible to users. Men's bathroom did not have soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Women's bathroom did not have soap.

13-201(j) An adequately sized, covered and lined trash receptacle shall be provided in each men and women’s sanitary facility area. Bathrooms observed without trashcans with lids and trash bags.

13-201(b) If no bathhouse is required, a shower with tempered water with a temperature range maintained between 70°F and 104°F shall be provided at each approved entrance into the pool area. (Footbaths prohibited). Observed deck shower, by the elevator, not working properly. Needs repair.
