CA: All gas-fired equipment shall be inspected at least annually by a qualified licensed contractor or local fire authority, if avaiable. Points to be inspected are proper construction and installation, malfunctions and adjustments of controls and burners, faulty heat exchangers and vent obstructions. Any defects found on inspection must be corrected by a qualified heating contractor prior to use of the equipment. Upon request, the operator shall provide evidence of inspection and/or correction of any deficiency. OBSERVATION: Gas fire inspection report not provided during the time of inspection.

CA: All furniture, draperies, appliances, carpets, and other accessories, in the tourist accommodation, whether the property of the tourist accommodation owner or not, shall be considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation for purposes of enforcement of this Chapter, and must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin.

OBSERVATION: Room 113: Curtain has a stain and towel rack is loose. Toilet tissue holder in room 304 is broken and phone is unclean with debris

CA: Washable mattress pads or covers shall be used on all mattresses. Beds, mattresses, springs, slats, mattress pads, mattress and bed coverings, pillow and pillow covers shall be clean and free from vermin.

Observation: Mattress pad in rooms 213 and 304 have hole. Mattress cover is stained in room 304

CA: The most recent tourist accommodation inspection report form shall be prominently displayed in public view at all times, between five feet and seven feet from the floor and in a public area such as the registration desk, where it can be read at a distance of one foot away. OBSERVATION: Inspection report is not posted in public view

CA: Any spray bottle used in cleaning a tourist room or stored on the housekeeping cart shall be labeled with its contents. Cleaners and sanitizer shall be used according to the manufacturer’s use direction and label.

CA: In all new tourist accommodations, and where possible in existing tourist accommodations, hot water in all guest rooms shall not exceed 120F. OBSERVATION: Hot water checked in the following rooms and exceeded 12F: Room 109-142F, 112-139F, 114-135F, 122-125F, 116-137F, 118-133F, 201-136F. Hot water for rooms must be lowered immediately to prevent burn injury

OBSERVATION: Coffee cup lids observed in several rooms and on in-use laundry carts not individually wrapped. PIC informed to discontinue use of lids that are not individually wrapped

CA: Housekeeper carts shall be so arranged that clean replacement supplies, clean linens, and cleaned and sanitized multi-use equipment and utensils shall be protected from soiled items being removed from each room. Soiled linens and refuse shall be placed in appropriate containers on housekeepers’ carts. Any spray bottle used in cleaning a tourist room or stored on the housekeeping cart shall be labeled with its contents. Cleaners and sanitizer shall be used according to the manufacturer’s use direction and label. OBSERVATION: Several sprays bottles containing chemicals observed in the laundry room and the housekeeping cart without labels.
