Motel 6/Pool

Observed the chlorine level above the minimum range of 2 -10 ppm. CA: Free Chlorine level in pools using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine product; Minimum 2.0 Ideal 2.0-5.0 Maximum 10.0. PIC will adjust the chlorine level to meet the minimum requirement.

Observed the chlorine samples are not collected twice a daily. CA: Water Testing Frequency. The trained operator or responsible person shall collect water samples from the water in the pool for monitoring. An in-line sampling port may be used for water held in reservoirs. PIC will start testing the chlorine twicw a day.

Observed the cyanuric acid greater than the maximum value of 90 ppm. CA: Cyanuric acid,ppm Ideal: 30-50 Maximum: 90 Comments: If stabilizer is: Too High: - May reduce chlorine efficacy Too Low: - Chlorine Residual rapidly destroyed by sunlight. PIC will adjust the cyanuric acid level to meet the minimum requirement.

Observed the CPO not performing chemical test at least twice a week. CA: he trained operator must perform a minimum of two visits weekly and be able to provide assistance whenever needed. PIC will make the weekly visits.

Observed the chlorine level below the minimum range of 2- 10 ppm. CA:During operation, disinfectant levels are less than the minimum level specified in DPH Rule 511-3-5-.17. If the level of the disinfectant used is not specified in DPH Rule 511-3-5-.17, the disinfectant must be approved and kept at levels determined necessary by the health authority. PIC will adjust the chlorine level to meet the minimum requirement.

Observed no body hook on the pool deck. CA: A light, strong pole not less than twelve feet long including body hook. PIC will have pole with boy hook placed at the pool.

Observed chlorine sample and pH sample not collected twice a day. CA: The trained operator or responsible person shall collect water samples from the water in the pool for monitoring. An in-line sampling port may be used for water held in reservoirs. PIC will test chlorine and pH twice a day, alkalinity once a week, and calcium hardness once a month and record results.

Observed certified pool operator certificate not onsite for inspection. CA: The trained operator shall have a current certificate showing completion of an approved operator training course. A copy or the original certificate or documentation shall be available onsite for inspection by the Health Authority. PIC will have CPO certificate onsite for inspection.

Observed hand rail at pool not secure in the pool deck. CA: Handrails, if removable, shall be installed in such a way that they cannot be removed without the use of tools. PIC will secure handrail to pool deck.

Observed pool deck with a large crack near hand rail that could injure guests. CA: Open joints or gaps larger than three-sixteenths inch wide or with vertical elevations exceeding 1/4 inches shall be rectified using appropriate fillers. Construction joints where pool coping meets the decks shall be watertight and shall not allow water to pass to the ground beneath. PIC will have deck repaired.

Observed the life saving ring without any rope attached. CA: A minimum one-fourth inch diameter throwing rope one and one-half times the maximum width of the pool or fifty feet in length, whichever is less, to which has been firmly attached a ring buoy with an outside diameter of approximately fifteen inches or a similar flotation device which is U.S. Coast Guard approved. PIC will replace the missing rope.

Observed no daily water testing and no CPO records. CA: A safety self-inspection shall be conducted daily by the trained operator or responsible person and documented on a log sheet. PIC will start keeping a log of the the pool values.

Observed chlorine below the minimum range of 2-10ppm.

Observed the flow meter reading at 0 GPM. The PIC will replaced/repaired the flow meter.
