Permit/Opening
15 - depth and no diving markers, step marking; installed and contrasting
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(4) - (4) depth markers for spas. public spas shall have permanent depth markers with numbers and letters a minimum of four inches high plainly and conspicuously visible from all obvious points of entry and in conformance with subsections (a) thru (f) belo
Observed deck depth marker number and letters not clearly visible due to fading. Operator must remark depth and NO DIVING warnings prior to opening pool.
17 - skimmers/gutters maintained and operable
Regulation: 511-3-5-.11(3)(d) - (d) each skimmer shall have a weir that adjusts automatically to variations in water level over a minimum range of four inches.
Observed that skimmers did not have weirs installed. Operator must install prior to opening pool.
32 - operator training certification available onsite and approved
Regulation: 511-3-5-.22(2) - (2) the trained operator shall have a current certificate showing completion of an approved operator training course. a copy or the original certificate or documentation shall be available onsite for inspection by the health authority.
Observed no current certification for pool operator available during inspection. Operator must post current certification prior to opening.
12 - grab/hand rails, ladders installed and secure
Regulation: 511-3-5-.06(3)(f)1. - 1. handrails, if removable, shall be installed in such a way that they cannot be removed without the use of tools.
Observed handrail on deep end missing bracket to secure it to pool decking. Operator must secure all handrails before opening pool.
22 - signs: peak occupancy/pool/spa/signs legible and in clearview
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(12)(a) - (a) the words "no diving" and the universal international symbol for “no diving” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers, and shall conform to that ou
Observed faded No Diving signs along pool fence. Signs must be replaced prior to opening.
22 - signs: peak occupancy/pool/spa/signs legible and in clearview
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(12)(b) - (b) where no lifeguard is on duty, a sign or signs shall be placed in clear view at or near the entrance to the pool and shall state in clearly legible letters at least four inches high “warning - no life guard on duty and risk of drowning - supervis
Observed faded NO LIFEGUARD signs on pool fence. Operator shall replace sign before opening.
29 - toilets & lavatories: clean, maintained, and stocked
Regulation: 511-3-5-.19(2)(l) - (l) at least one trash receptacle will be available in toilet areas.
Observed missing trash receptacles in women's dressing room. Each stall must have a covered receptacle for feminine hygiene products. Operator shall install prior to opening.
31 - dressing showers: clean, maintained, hot and cold water available
Regulation: 511-3-5-.19(1)(e ) - (e) hot and cold water under pressure shall be provided in dressing facility showers.
Observed no hot water available at dressing facility. Operator shall install hot water capabilities prior to opening.
