Routine
1 - barrier: pool enclosed/fencing in compliance
Regulation: 511-3-5-.23(5)(g) - (g) failure to provide and maintain a barrier to inhibit unauthorized access to the outdoor facility when required.
Observed that the fencing around the pool was broken with many missing slats (wooden fence) and that there was no barrier between the pool and the tennis courts next to it. CA: A barrier to inhibit unauthorized access shall be provided and maintained.
5 - emergency phone operational and accessible
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(10)(c ) - (c) an operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all tim
Observed that the emergency phone box was painted to blend into the fencing and was not identified or labeled as an emergency phone; the verbiage 911 phone nor the numbers for local emergency services was not posted; the emergency phone box when opened, stated to call the front desk if there was an emergency and only had the facilities number listed. CA: An operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all times. The emergency phone shall be capable of connecting to 911 and electronically transferring an automatic number identification and automatic locator identification of the pool emergency phone to the public safety answering point, if available. A 911 sign or the names and phone numbers of the nearest available police, fire, ambulance service or rescue unit shall be posted nearby.

Observed that the chlorine was 20 ppm. CA: Chlorine shall be kept between 2 and 10 ppm.

Regulation: 511-3-5-.23(5)(b) - (b) during operation, the ph is less than the minimum or more than the maximum levels allowed in dph rule 511-3-5-.l7.
Observed that the pH was below 7.0; pH indicator was pale yellow and was below what the comparator block read. CA: pH shall be maintained between 7.2 and 7.8.
11 - appropriate lifesaving equipment present
Regulation: 511-3-5-.18(10)(b) - (b) a minimum one-fourth inch diameter throwing rope one and one-half times the maximum width of the pool or fifty feet in length, whichever is less, to which has been firmly attached a ring buoy with an outside diameter of approximately fifteen inch
Observed that the ring buoy was not a coast guard one and is insufficient. Observed that the depth markers were too few around the coping of the pool and that the depth markers at waters edge on the wall were faded/bleached. Observed that the no diving verbiage was missing from the edges of the pool. CA: The words "No Diving" and the universal international symbol for “NO DIVING” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers, and shall conform to that outlined for depth markers requirements.

.04(9)(d) - Observed that the plaster of the pool was starting to come up and that the pool surface was not maintained. The pool deck has a large crack that could constitute a tripping hazard to bathers. CA: All surfaces that come in contact with the user shall be finished so that they do not constitute a cutting, pinching, puncturing or abrasion hazard under casual contact and intended use. All materials shall be maintained in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
