Observed multiple entrance gates that could not self-close and self-latch. (h) Access gates shall also comply with the requirements of this Rule and shall be equipped to accommodate a locking device. Barrier gates shall open away from the pool in facilities constructed after adoption of this chapter. Pedestrian access gates shall be self-closing and have a self-latching device. Gates other than pedestrian access gates shall have a self-latching device. Where the release mechanism of the self latching device is located less than fifty-four inches from the bottom of the gate, 1. The release mechanism shall be located on the pool side of the gate at least three inches below the top of the gate and 2. Any openings in the gate or barrier located within eighteen inches of the release mechanism shall be less than one-half inch. 3. Mechanisms controlled by an access card reader, key entry device or keypad shall be located on the outside of the access gate. EHS informed the PIC(maintenance) of the need to have all gates to self-close and self-latch.

Observed high combined chlorine level. (1) Disinfectant Levels (a) Free chlorine, ppm in pools not using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine compound use (b),1.-5.EHS informed the PIC of the need to balance the water chemistry as the initial free chlorine reading was extremely high.

Observed inner wall pool light not mounted. Facility is aware of the need to mount securely.

Observed the emergency phone not operating. (c) An operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all times. The emergency phone shall be capable of connecting to 911 and electronically transferring an automatic number identification and automatic locator identification of the pool emergency phone to the public safety answering point, if available. A 911 sign or the names and phone numbers of the nearest available police, fire, ambulance service or rescue unit shall be posted nearby. EHS informed the PIC of the need to fix the phone and for it to dial to Macon-Bibb 911.

Observed no chlorine present in the pool. (c) Free Chlorine level in pools using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine product; Minimum 2.0 Ideal 2.0-5.0 Maximum 10.0EHS informed the CPO of the need to balance the water chemistry.

Observed feeder leaking water. (1) Disinfectant equipment and chemical feeders, such as flow-through chemical feeders, electrolytic chemical generators, mechanical chemical feeders, chemical feed pumps, and automated controllers shall comply with the requirements of NSF Standard 50.

EHS informed CPO to determine the source of the leak.

Observed flow meter not operating. capable of measuring from (b) A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed the PIC(maintenance) of the need to fix or replace the flow meter.

Observed high pressure gauge reading; pool potentially needing to be backwashed. EHS informed the PIC of the issue and he stated that it needed to be backwashed.
