EHS observes free chlorine at .58. Free Chlorine level in pools using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine product; Minimum 2.0 Ideal 2.0-5.0 Maximum 10.0

PIC to correct.

Observed high combined chlorine levels. (1) Disinfectant Levels (a) Free chlorine, ppm in pools not using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine compound use (b),1.-5.EHS informed of the need to balance the water chemistry.

Observed flow meter not working. (b) A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed the PIC of the need to fix the flow meter.

Observed a high level of cyanuric acid; excessive chlorine pucks in the skimmer baskets. (4) Stabilizer (if used) Cyanuric acid,ppm Ideal: 30-50 Maximum: 90 Comments: If stabilizer is: Too High: - May reduce chlorine efficacy Too Low: - Chlorine Residual rapidly destroyed by sunlight Note: Stabilizer is not needed in indoor or brominated pools and spas. EHS informed maintenance of the need to balance the water chemistry and not to place the chlorine pucks in the baskets. They should only be fed through the feeder.
