Routine
27 - all furniture, waste receptacles, draperies, carpets; clean, and in good repair, considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(5) - condition of furnishings
EHS observed the following items:
- Multiple hairs observed on bath towels in rooms 102 & 104
- The leatherette of desk chairs peeling in rooms 104 & 106
- Damage to the microwave's keypad in room 105
- Dust accumulation and a yellowish-white mildew-like substance on the desk chair in room 106
511-6-2-.14(5) - Condition of Furnishings All furniture, draperies, appliances, carpets, and other accessories, in the tourist accommodation, whether the property of the tourist accommodation owner or not, shall be considered the property of and furnished by the tourist accommodation for purposes of enforcement of this Chapter, and must be maintained in good repair, clean, and free of vermin.
CA: EHS advised the PIC that housekeepers should wear hair restraint or hairnet to prevent hairs on towels. Observed damaged chairs and microwave should either be repaired or discarded and replaced. The chair observed with dust and mildew-like substance should be cleaned
28 - beds, mattresses, mattress pads, springs, frames, pillows, and bed coverings clean; vermin free and in good condition; bed linen properly supplied, changed and laundered
Regulation: 511-6-2-.14(6) - bed, bedding, and linens
EHS observed the following items:
- light yellows stains on sheets, mattress pads, and/or mattress covers in all rooms observed.
- Hairs on sheets, mattress covers, and/or mattress pads - 102, 103, 104, 105
511-6-2-.14(6) - Bed, Bedding, and Linens Washable mattress pads or covers shall be used on all mattresses. Beds, mattresses, springs, slats, mattress pads, mattress and bed coverings, pillow and pillow covers shall be clean and free from vermin. Each bed shall be provided, as a minimum, with two sheets and one pillow and pillowcase. After each occupancy and upon the request of the occupant, sheets and pillowcases shall be changed with fresh laundered linens. During occupancy, linens shall be changed at a minimum frequency of not less than weekly.
CA: EHS advised the PIC that the observed linen should be cleaned and replaced with stain free items. Linen from which stains can not be removed should be discarded and replaced. Suggested housekeepers wear hair restraints and ensure they're ensuring hairs are not left on made beds
