Observed the side entry gate near the restrooms not self-latching at every opening. (h) Access gates shall also comply with the requirements of this Rule and shall be equipped to accommodate a locking device. Barrier gates shall open away from the pool in facilities constructed after adoption of this chapter. Pedestrian access gates shall be self-closing and have a self-latching device. Gates other than pedestrian access gates shall have a self-latching device. Where the release mechanism of the self latching device is located less than fifty-four inches from the bottom of the gate, 1. The release mechanism shall be located on the pool side of the gate at least three inches below the top of the gate and 2. Any openings in the gate or barrier located within eighteen inches of the release mechanism shall be less than one-half inch. 3. Mechanisms controlled by an access card reader, key entry device or keypad shall be located on the outside of the access gate. EHS informed the maintenance guy of the need to fix the latching mechanism.

Observed chlorine levels exceeding the max; unable to obtain a numerical reading. (c) Free Chlorine level in pools using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine product; Minimum 2.0 Ideal 2.0-5.0 Maximum 10.0. EHS informed the CPO of the need to balance the water chemistry; he shocked the pool prior to EHS arrival as he observed the levels were extremely low.

(2) Chemical Values: pH 7.2 7.4-7.6 7.8 Alkalinity (buffering), 60 ppm 80-100 halogens compounds with high pH 180 ppm as CaC03 100-120 halogen compounds with low pH Calcium hardness, ppm, CaCo3 150 200-400 to balance water 1000. EHS informed the CPO of the need to balance the water chemistry; he added muriatic acid on-site.

The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed the CPO of the need to fix the flow meter.

Observed NO DIVING symbol present, however it was covering the NO DIVING wording. (a) The words "No Diving" and the universal international symbol for “NO DIVING” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers, and shall conform to that outlined for depth markers in subsections (3)(a) thru (h) above. EHS informed the CPO and maintenance of the need to shift the symbols to the right of the words NO DIVING.
