13-190(a): Inadequate turnover rate. Turnover rate should be at least 168.1 gpm.

13-189(c): Pool water shall be tested at least 2 times each day. Observed pool water testing log to be infrequent, with some readings performed once per day and other dates containing duplicate readings (same date & same time).

13-202(a)(2) Pool entrances must be through self closing, self latching doors. Observed men's and women's entrance doors not self latching. COS. Latches on both doors was fixed.

13-202 (a)(2). Pool entrances must self latch. Emergency exit is being used as an entrance for children's swimming training. This door must be made into a true entrance (self closing, self latching) or entrance must be made through locker room.

13-202(D) Each pool shall have coast guard approved ring buoy. Observed ring buoy in disrepair. Side handles falling apart. Middle section was also coming apart. Needs to be replaced. *Pool has additional ring buoy. Pool can remain open.

13-190(a)(7) Flowmeter shall be installed to indicate circulation rate. Observed flow meter not operational. Flowmeter needs repair or to be replaced.

13-189(C)(4). Pool water shall be tested for chlorine and pH at least 2 times each day. Observed 1 daily testing for pool on most days.

13-187(c) Copy of pool operator's certificate shall be displayed near the permit. COS. Certificate was posted.

13-201(c)(3) Bathroom sinks must have hot and cold water. Women's bathroom sinks did not have hot water. *Pool can remain open.

13-189(c)(1) DPD test kit or other approved method for testing chemicals shall be used. Observed expired test kit chemicals for test kit in the equipment room.

CA:ccess gates shall also comply with the requirements of this Rule and shall be equipped to accommodate a locking device. Barrier gates shall open away from the pool in facilities constructed after adoption of this chapter. Pedestrian access gates shall be self-closing and have a self-latching device.

Observed inadequate turnover rate

CA:(a) The equipment for a swimming pool shall be of adequate size to turn over the entire pool water capacity.

Observed same chemical readings being written on multiple days

CA: If the water test results are not in compliance with DPH Rule 511-3-5-.17, the operator shall close the pool, record findings, and make the necessary adjustments to the water chemistry to comply with the chapter.

13-202(h) The telephone number of the pool operator, manager, and of the Health Department shall be posted at the telephone. -Observed no manager or health department number posted at emergency phone.

13-202(d) Lifesaving equipment shall be mounted in a conspicuous place and be readily available for use and in good condition. -Observed life ring tossed in a corner of the pool deck and without rope attached.

13-202(d) Additional sets of lifesaving equipment are required for pools longer than 50’ and shall be provided for each 50’ or pool length or major fraction thereof. -Observed only one set of safety equipment in the pool area.

13-205(d)(1) A clock, with a minimum 12-inch face shall be provided & mounted vertically so as to be clearly seen by all bathers in the whirlpool and whirlpool area. -Observed no clock visible on a wall from the spa area.

13-190(a) An adequately sized flow meter shall be installed on the return line to accurately indicate the circulation rate in gallons per minute (GPM); shall be conspicuously located. -Observed flowmeter to be not functional (bobber stuck). Please repair.

13-188(h)(3) A deck no less than 5’ in width, as measured from the inside wall of a pool, shall surround a minimum of 65% of the pool perimeter. The required deck shall be unobstructed in all directions and shall be constructed at the same elevation as the outside edge of the coping. -Observed several (3) PVC training platforms on the pool deck obstructing the ability to walk around the pool deck.

13-202(m) Safety rules and regulations shall be easily readable and shall be conspicuously posted in the pool area. The lettering shall be a minimum of ¾” except as otherwise noted. (Rules must contain at a minimum the 12 statements in the pool code on pg 42 for a pool; see pg 46 for additional spa signage). -Observed several paper notices posted over 3 of the pool rules signs in the pool area.

13-190(a) Flowmeter should be operated continuously; flowmeter not functional. Please repair flowmeter.

13-189(c)(4) Pool chemicals must be checked daily and at least 2 times a day when pool is operational; pool logs indicated one chemical reading per day.
