Insurance company performs gas fired inspections and CPO indicates the facility has notified the insurance company that the inspection is required on the pool heater.

.17 (4): The cyanuric acid exceeds the maximum allowance of 90 ppm. Add fresh water to pool to lower CYA amounts to a level below 90ppm.

Each entry gate closest to the dining area has the release mechanism below 54 inches and the mechanism is on the exterior of the gate. Where the release mechanism of the self latching device is located less than fifty-four inches from the bottom of the gate, 1. The release mechanism shall be located on the pool side of the gate at least three inches below the top of the gate and 2. Any openings in the gate or barrier located within eighteen inches of the release mechanism shall be less than one-half inch. 3. Mechanisms controlled by an access card reader, key entry device or keypad shall be located on the outside of the access gate. Must be corrected prior to next routine inspection.

The chlorine exceeds the maximum allowance of 10ppm. The pool must remain closed until the chlorine level drops to no more than 10ppm. Verify with CPO to see if pool has been shocked recently. No documents available to verify within the past few days. Also, verify and adjust chlorinator if needed.

The installed flow meter is not sized appropriately for the required turnover. The required turnover is 286 gpm.
A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. Must be corrected prior to permitting inspection.

The certificate for the CPO is not available. The trained operator shall have a current certificate showing completion of an approved operator training course. A copy or the original certificate or documentation shall be available onsite for inspection by the Health Authority.

The documents provided do not indicate the CPO is documenting the required information at each visit. Written documentation of the operator’s visits must be available at the pool facility. At a minimum, the written record must indicate the condition of all pool equipment, deck, and safety equipment.

The sign posted for No Lifeguard on Duty does not meet the minimum 4" lettering requirement. Where no lifeguard is on duty, a sign or signs shall be placed in clear view at or near the entrance to the pool and shall state in clearly legible letters at least four inches high “WARNING - NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY and RISK OF DROWNING - SUPERVISE CHILDREN CLOSELY”.

The peak occupancy is not posted. The peak occupancy is 94. A sign shall be posted stating the hours of operation in clear view near the entrance and shall state the theoretical peak occupancy.

The showers at the pool are not functioning. Once turned on at the main water line, both showers leak significantly. Ensure showers are fixed and remain open at the water line to allow for use at any time. A minimum of one rinse shower shall be provided on the pool deck of all public pools and spas. Water used for rinse showers may be at ambient temperature.

There are chairs located on the tanning ledge inside the pool. There should be no chairs located within the pool.18(15) Obstructions and Entrapment Avoidance. There shall be no obstructions that might injure or entrap a user. Types of entrapment include, but are not limited to, wedge or pinch-type openings and rigid cantilevered protrusions.
