Observed quat test strips at the establishment today and observed expired chlorine test strips. According to the Person In Charge (PIC), the quat test strips were the ones provided to the establishment; however, the establishment uses a chlorine sanitizer solution for sanitizing their equipment and utensils. The chlorine test strips expired in 2021. A test kit or other device that accurately measures the concentration in mg/L of sanitizing solutions shall be provided. Corrected on Site (COS): chlorine test strips were provided today. Purchase chlorine test strips for the chlorine sanitizer solution.

Observed the screen door in the rear of the establishment having gaps on the sides of the door and there are few gaps at the bottom of the door. Outer openings of a food service establishment shall be protected against the entry of insects and rodents by: (i) Filling or closing holes and other gaps along floors, walls, and ceilings; (ii) Closed, tight-fitting windows; and (iii) Solid, self-closing, tight-fitting doors. Recommend placing a better door sweep strip at the bottom of the door. Recommend keeping the main door closed if the screen door is not properly adjusted so the outside light is not noticed.

Observed household can of Raid bug spray in the kitchen area. Household chemicals are not allowed to be used inside the commercial establishment. Please have a reputable pest control company's representative provide pest control service for the establishment. Remove the household can of Raid away from the establishment.

Observed personal items (children toys) stored around cases of drinks inside of the main kitchen. All personal items must be stored away from food, single-use items, clean equipment, and clean linen. Designate an area (place inside of the office, etc.) for personal items to be stored.
