Observed tongs in prep top cooler in front food service area with handles touching food in banana and spinach tubs. In-use utensils that are between use stored in food that is not time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained with their handles above the top of the food within containers or equipment that can be closed, such as bins of sugar, flour, or cinnamon. COS: Employee moved tongs so the handles were not touching the food.

Observed metal spoon in container of whey with handle lying flat on the powdered whey. In-use utensils that are between use stored in food that is not time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained with their handles above the top of the food within containers or equipment that can be closed, such as bins of sugar, flour, or cinnamon. COS: PIC instructed employee to place spoon so that the handle is stored above the food.
