Observed excessive staining on the mattress protectors in rooms 102, 408, and 410. Joyce, head of housekeeping, instructed housekeeping staff to strip and remake beds in these rooms with clean mattress protectors. Housekeeping staff should monitor the condition of mattress protectors each time the beds are stripped between guests and replace the protectors as needed

The surfaces should be inspected for condition while conducting routine cleaning. Spoke previously with Manager about purchasing removable mats for tub basins but none were present in rooms at time of inspection. These can be used but must be routinely cleaned between guests

Observed food and physical debris under the cushions of a pull-out bed. Observed food debris inside the microwaves in multiple units. Observed sticky substance dried onto the vent of the wall mounted air conditioning unit. Observed build-up dust and debris on the grating and blades of the fan in the laundry room. Observed the mini fridge in room 104 missing an essential knob on the back of the unit that controlled temperature. Unit was not holding temperature and was removed from use. All these surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized as often as necessary to prevent debris accumulation and contamination
