Observed the gated entrance from the outdoor patio was damaged; fencing was loose and the door did not self-close. (11) Barriers. All outdoor swimming pools and spas shall be enclosed by a barrier to prevent entry to the pool area when the pool is closed. (a) The top of the barrier shall be at least forty eight inches above grade maesured on the side of the barried which faces away from the swiming pool. 1. The maximim vertical clearance between a solid surface and the bottom of the barrier shall be four inches measured on the side of the barrier which faces away from the swimming pool. 2. For non-solid surfaces, the veritical clearance between the bottom of the barrier and the grade shall not exceed two inches for a barrier constructed after adoption of the chapter. 3. Where the top of the pool structure is above grade, the barrier may be at ground level, such as the pool structure. 4. Where the barrier is mounted on top of the pool structure, the maximum vertical clearance between the top of the pool structure and the bottom of the barrier shall be four inches. EHS informed the owner of the need to fix the gate so that it self-closes/latches.

Observed the emergency phone was not operational. (c) An operable, hard-wired, conventional telephone line or continuous powered source, weatherproof emergency phone shall be permanently installed in a conspicuous location within the pool enclosure and must be readily available to bathers at all times. The emergency phone shall be capable of connecting to 911 and electronically transferring an automatic number identification and automatic locator identification of the pool emergency phone to the public safety answering point, if available. A 911 sign or the names and phone numbers of the nearest available police, fire, ambulance service or rescue unit shall be posted nearby. EHS informed the owner who stated that he would have it fixed.

Observed high combined chlorine levels. (1) Disinfectant Levels (a) Free chlorine, ppm in pools not using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine compound use (b),1.-5. EHS informed the owner and reached out to the CPO via text to inform him of the need to balance the water chemistry.

Observed the flow meter was not operating. (b) A flow meter measuring the rate of flow through the filter system with an appropriate range readable in gallons per minute (GPM) and accurate within ten percent actual flow shall be provided. The flow indicator shall be capable of measuring from one-half to at least one and one-half times the design flow rate. The gauge shall be located after the filtering equipment and in such location on the return line, so as to measure the total amount of water returning to the pool according to the manufacturer’s installation specifications. EHS informed the owner and CPO via phone of the need to fix the meter.

Observed combined chlorine level at 1.24 ppm. (1) Disinfectant Levels (a) Free chlorine, ppm in pools not using cyanuric acid or a stabilized chlorine compound use (b),1.-5. EHS informed PIC and CPO(via phone) of the need to balance the water chemistry.

Observed damaged pressure gauge on filter. (a) A pressure or vacuum gauge or other means of indicating system condition shall be provided in the circulation system in an easily readable location. EHS informed PIC and CPO(via phone) of the need to replace the pressure guage.

Observed NO DIVING in 4 in letters missing on pool deck next to depth markers. (a) The words "No Diving" and the universal international symbol for “NO DIVING” shall be permanently visible at the edge of the deck for water five feet in depth or less, placed only on the deck beside the depth markers, and shall conform to that outlined for depth markers in subsections (3)(a) thru (h) above.EHS informed PIC of the need to install NO DIVING wording in 4 inches at each depth marker.

Observed that the emergency phone did not have a dial tone. All pools are to have an operable pool that dials to the local dispatch service for the area. For this pool that would be the Macon-Bibb 911 Dispatch. Have phone repaired so that it can dial 911

Observed combined chlorine of 1.62. Combined chlorine for pools is to be .o4 or less. Have CPO adjust chlorine to the level based on GA Food Code.

Observed that the pool did not have the words "No Diving" in letters that are each 4 inches tall. All pools are to have the words "No Diving" in letters that are 4 inches tall anywhere the pool is 5 feet deep or less. Have the words "No Diving" placed around the pool. This may be done with paint or stenciling.

Observed lounge chairs along the pool that do not allow a minimum of 4' of unobstructed space before the first obstruction. A minimum four foot deck width shall be provided on the sides and rear of any diving equipment or waterslide stairs. A deck clearance of forty-eight inches shall be provided around all deck equipment. Move chairs so that there is 4' of frees space from the edge of the phone.
