GATEWAY AT CEDARBROOK (POOL)

13-189(c)(1): The free chlorine residual in all parts of the pool shall be maintained at a concentration of no less than 1.5 ppm and shall not exceed 10 ppm. Upon arrival, free chlorine was measured at 0.00 ppm.

13-197(a): The water in each pool shall be continuously chemically treated with an approved disinfecting agent, with associated, approved equipment. Upon arrival, chemical feeder contained zero disinfectant agents/was non-functional.

13-190(a): All circulation system components shall function properly & be maintained in a clean condition. Upon arrival, both sand filters were non-operational, and gauges read a pressure of 0 psi.

13-202(b): A pool operator shall be responsible for the operation of a pool & trained in a pool operator course approved by the department. Observed two CPO certificates posted, for two different individuals, with expiration dates of several years ago.

13-190(a): All circulation systems shall function properly & be maintained in a clean condition. Observed 1/3 skimmers with minimal water circulation, as its basket was filled with debris.

13-183(d): Direct discharge of polluted waters shall not be made to any outlet or to any portion of the public storm drain system. Upon arrival, equipment room was completely flooded with standing water at ankle height and was flowing freely into the street.

13-188(f): All steps shall have a handrail double anchored in the deck. Grab rails located near 6'(ft) pool depth were loose/not properly secure.

13-188(h)(3): The required deck shall be non-obstructed in all directions. Rough and abrasive surfaces are prohibited. Observed numerous large cracks and missing pieces of plaster throughout pool deck.

13-202(m): Safety rules & regulations shall be easily readable, conspicuously posted in the pool area, with at minimum 12 required statements in the pool code. Observed pool rules sign without "peak occupancy" or "hours of operations" information filled in.

13-188(a): Pool surfaces shall have no cracks or open joints. Observed pool surface missing a moderate amount of plaster/containing open joints.

13-187(c): The operating permit shall be framed & displayed in a conspicuous place. Observed operating permits from 2021.

13-190(a): The equipment room shall be kept clean & safe. Upon arrival, equipment room contained a significant amount of standing water throughout the floor.

13-190(a)(7): observed flow meter with a float stuck at the bottom. Was unable to read the flow rate on the meter. CA: An adequately sized flow meter shall be installed on the return line to accurately indicate the circulation rate in gallons per minute (GPM); shall be conspicuously located. CPO states that he has ordered new flow meters.

13-190(A)(7): Observed float in flow meter stuck at the bottom of the flow meter. Could not read to flow rate of the pool. CA: An adequately sized flow meter shall be installed on the return line to accurately indicate the circulation rate in gallons per minute (GPM); shall be conspicuously located. CPO stated that he order more flow meters.

13-202(a)(2): all gates to the pool must be self-closing and self-latching.

• gate next to the equipment room was observed with no latch and was unlocked at beginning of inspection. -maintenance padlocked gate upon request.

13-190(a): pool should achieve a minimum of 4 turnovers per day (1 turnover every 6 hours) -flow observed at 35 gpm. should be around 170 gpm.

13-184(e)(5): unsecured handrails are considered an imminent health hazard. -rail for ladder was loose upon inspection. -maintenance tightened railing prior to end of inspection.

13-188(h)(4): decking shall not retain standing water. -hose was leaking onto pool deck. -maintenance removed hose, and water dried. instructed to replace or patch hole in hose.

The current inspection report shall be displayed in a conspicuous place where it is easily readable by the public at all times upon entry into the pool area. -inspection on display was very faded and not readable.

13-188(h)(a): trash receptacles must be lined. -maintenance replaced missing trash bag in the pool area upon request

13-190(a) The equipment shall be operated continuously on a 24 hour basis to obtain the minimum required number of 4 turnovers per day or 1 turnover every 6 hours. Observed the flowmeter to be inoperable.

The current inspection report shall be displayed in a conspicuous place where it is easily readable by the public at all times upon entry into the pool area. Pool facility failed to display the previous inspection report.

13-187(c) The operating pool permit shall be framed and displayed in a conspicuous place as close to the pool entrance as possible such that it is easily readable by the public. Pool facility failed to display swimming pool permit to public.

All chemicals shall be stored in a safe place where they are six inches above the ground. Observed chemicals stored directly on the ground in the pump room.

13-183(d): direct discharge from filter backwash shall not go into the storm drain. The broken pipe needs to be reattached so the water can move to the sewer.
