Observed establishment without a food allergy awareness training. Advised PIC employees are properly trained in food safety, including food allergy awarenes, as it relates to their assigned duties. Food allergy awareness includes describing foods identified as major food allergens and the symptoms that a major food allergen could cause in a sensitive individual who has an allergic reaction. Advised PIC to obtain a training related to food allergy awareness and produce to the Health Authority upon request.

Observed absorbent ceiling tiles in the front food service area, main kitchen, and restrooms. Advised PIC that ceiling tiles shall be smooth, easily cleanable, and nonabsorbent in areas of food storage, food preparation and ware washing facilities. Advised PIC to replace ceiling tiles with nonabsorbent ceiling tiles.
